Abstract Painting of Cells

I wanted to paint some more to explore the idea of abstract art and the mixing of different densities of paint. I also am enjoying the idea of making representations of some of the projects that have fueled my research. I decided to explore more with a (very) abstract idea of what I have done. I decided to switch the typical green and blue between actin and the nucleus of a cell, and added in some protein around the focal adhesions to finish it off.

The painting is still very wet, so it is unclear exactly how it will dry, but it was a fun experiment. I think I will eventually either have to try to make real paintings or try to get paint that flows a bit more. I guess I could be more precise in how I add water to the acrylic, but getting less viscous paint sounds a little easier to me.
