Buildings and Buildings

I like repetition quite a bit in my work and the work of others. One of my favorite exhibits ever was at the Vancouver Art Gallery, and it had numerous works of repetition from lines on paper, to a video of a guy digging his own grave, to phallic salt shakers.

I decided to again incorporate repetition into my own work with another colored pencil and watercolor drawing of buildings in a skyline. The shot is directly on, so there are not additional details with shadows and shading. The sky is red, because red skies are obviously more interesting than other colors.

Drawing this was quite fun, although hopefully I will have more time to sit and dedicate to drawing like this in the future. I definitely find it quite relaxing to just sit and make drawings with lots of basic detail, but don't always have the patience to wait.
