Clean Room Shenanigans

I spent another day in the clean room, but this time was at least slightly more exciting. I attempted to make a master mold for the work that will eventually become my thesis. I suppose the specific nature of the work is confidential and cannot be thoroughly discussed anywhere on the internet, so just know that it involved the creation of structures using the fine polymer of SU-8.

SU-8 and I have quite the history, and the last time I worked with it was two years ago. It create an awful mess, requires outrageous times for heating and cooling, and doesn't reveal that you've fucked up some part of the long process until you've wasted a day wearing a bunny suit while waiting for things to heat up and cool down.

Luckily, after realizing that I probably had a terrible mold, I still finished the process, and was pleasantly surprised with the results. Unfortunately, I didn't make all aspects of the mold, so look for another post complaining about clean room shenanigans next week.
