Colored Softer World

One of my favorite comics, and one of the inspirations for my current blog is A Softer World. I started getting interested in A Softer World, Dinosaur Comics, and Wondermark around the same time, although long after they each already had a significant following. When the two people behind A Softer World announced they were going to finish, I came to the realization that all three of these awesome comics had to start somewhere. Some of the early Dinosaur Comics are written in a manner which suggests that Ryan Q. North had to start at some point with a faint idea of what he wanted to accomplish, and I wonder if he ever expected it to last over a decade.

In the film "Shine A Light", where Martin Scorsese captures the Rollings Stones after over 40 years of existence, there is a clip of Mick Jagger responding to a reporter after 1 year that he'd be happy if they kept going for another. I think these clips and ideas of amazing mainstays of culture starting as a single entry to a blog or a single riff on a guitar are quite uplifting.

Inspired by all of this great work, and a complete lack of time, I made today's creation a simple tribute to one of the greatest web comics of the last decade. It was a fun drawing to be able to finish before bed.
